On March 19, 2014 in Nis, Serbia a working meeting between the veterinary authorities and hunters from Serbia was held. The meeting is part of the project “Joint information system for process optimization “One Health “in the border region”.
Diseases do not respect national borders and therefore should have a common unified approach to the prevention of diseases. “It is better to deal with prevention rather than cure” … concluded Dr. Teodora Petkova, project leader, which is main initiative between Bulgaria and Serbia, with the main objective to strengthen territorial cohesion between border territorial units and improve the system of control over the health of domestic and wild animals and people across the border region. An important result of the project, which will be to establish a functioning information network that incorporates not only the electronic system for the exchange of information , but a network of experts and specialists , unified procedures that will lead to effective prevention and control of diseases throughout the border region.
